This site is very nice, quiet, lots of bird song. 8 camping sites, 3 set back a little in the woods, a few more of a lawn setting, and the rest lawn with scattered trees. Camp host is very friendly and helpful! Vault toilets and water available.
Nice secluded campground that's only a twenty minute drive from Columbia. Sites are first come, first serve, but are free. Campground host is friendly as well. Unlike a lot of other campgrounds, these sites are packed in right next to each other. There is well over a hundred feet between this campsite and the next. Definitely a hidden jewel of Mid-MO if you like to camp.
It's a small campground with 8 large campsites that could sleep 6-8 people (3-4 tents). Some campsites had two picnic tables, others had a covered food prep area Camp for the cedar ridge trail, the trailhead is located here. Highly recommend the trail, truly beautiful nature especially in the fall. A local grocery store and gas stations are located in Ashland - 15 minutes drive.
It was a nice area to camp for the night.
Campsites very clean and family friendly. Get there early or you will have to camp somewhere else. The trail is amazing as well.
